For posting a joke....

I made a topic with the headline "New facts have been discovered about Jiren" (From Dragon Ball Super)

Then the opening post was a picture of Jiren, with lots of Chuck norris style jokes but applied to Jiren.

What I did wrong was posting fake news... iirc the message was "Don't create topics that are jokes but have a serious title" or something that pretty much meant that.

I hate mods since that day, no fun allowed here.

For Seattle, the EMP museum has a section dedicated to Nirvana. You might like that.

Bruce Lee's grave is also on Seattle.

Anyway, list of touristic stuff to do:

*Consider getting the city pass as that contains many of the touristic attractions below if you are interested. That will probably take you 2-3 days to complete.

- Space needle to visit Seattle's iconic landmark. Although it was under renovation so it might be partially closed unless renovation is completed now.
- EMP museum(pop culture museum)
- Chihuly garden (air blown glass museum)
- Ride the duck (A bus ride around the city with a little twist)
- Seattle's underground tour (historic tour to know more about the city buried below Seattle). There's 21age versions where you can drink along the tour
- Argosy cruise (A boat ride with different options)
- Walk along the pier and ride the Seattle Great Ferry wheel (imo overpriced for what it is, but still is a touristic spot)
- Seattle's aquarium (Smallish imo, there's better ones on other places)
- Woodland Zoo (never been there)
- Japanese Garden
- Pike place market (this one is shown whenever a movie is in Seattle as it is also iconic).
- Visit the first Starbucks ever, which is located on the Pike place market. They sell "unique" coffe mugs, which probably can be bought from Amazon by resellers. Protip: if you actually want a coffee, it tastes the same and you might as well go to the next corner to a normal Starbucks with less line. Protip2: You don't need to make a line to enter, just to buy. If you just want a picture you can just enter. Near end of the day this starbucks is still open and the market closed so there's less people at that time.

Less touristic stuff/for second visit:
- Go on a Seaplane flight (Kenmore air)
- Go to golden garden beach and bring your picnic basket to enjoy a day near a rather small (and artificial) beach.
- Lots of parks to visit like Discovery park, Lincoln Park
- Go whale watching (if you visit on the right season)
- Visit a small town on Bainbridge island (reach via a ferry, you can bring your car too on the ferry)
- Go kayaking or paddle boarding on Lake union or Greenlake
- Go to the museum of flight/Boeing factory. There's 2 museums, the one on the north is better.
- Visit some wineries at woodinville
- Go to a chocolate factory tour
- Go to Snoqualmie falls (about 1hr drive)
- Lots of hiking im not going to bother to mention
- Visit the Freemont troll
- Visit the house that "Up" disney movie is based on

Other stuff:
- For bars, drinks and nightlife go to Capitol hill
- Go to Starbucks roastery to try out different types of coffees.
- There are many Food festivals/ festivals during summer weekends so you might want to check them out.
- A must do hike would be mount rainer. But that's probably a 1 day trip and has different levels of difficulty. Not sure if I would recommend for your first visit to Seattle.
- If you are around Dicks burger after spending the night on Capitol hill, it is a good cheap drunk food.

I think that's pretty much it. You can easily see most of Seattle in a single trip, everything else would be more of "life in Seattle to do stuff" instead of tourism.

Surprised someone hasn't suggested Voodoo Donut in Portland yet.

Don't go there. It's just a stupid novelty, not actually that amazing. There's way, way better bakeries in Portland.

This, but then again you can't really say you went to Portland if you don't do the mainstream stuff.

What do you like? Are you there for work or visiting? Would you like touristic places, outdoor activities or just some places to hang out (i.e. bars/food)?

I have a fireplace that stands out from the wall and was thinking of building a fireplace wall (no idea how they are called) that just surrounds the whole fireplace wall to give it a nice look.

Problem is, I have no idea where to even start. I do not want a mantel but rather the complete wall around it.

Any CExpert knows where I could start looking for such a thing? Like what should I be searching for, services that provide such thing or if this is a DYI only thing.

Sample of what I'm thinking of:

Pink gorilla video game store.

Now that you mention it, there are a couple of small geeky stores at Northgate Mall:

- Some retro arcade store with all sorts of old games from atari, ps1,sega,nes,snes,gameboy,gamecube,wii,xbox. Pretty much everything except new gen.
- An anime store
- ThinkGeek physical store
- A (very crappy) pokemon center which is really just a single machine to buy pokemon related stuff from it.
- The usual GameStop/Hot topic stores

Not much else to do on the mall though (besides clothing), but near it there's a Regal cinema that also has a small gaming store just next to it. Where it seems that you pretty much just pay by the time you want to play and the provide you with a neat gaming setup (gaming seat + headphones + screen) and just play there. I've never tried it but have seen people playing some Xbox games there.

For food:

Daniel Broilers is a really good meat place but expensive
Red robin has great gourmet burgers, but is also present on other states
Definitely try Dick's burgers, great and cheap drunk food. This is a signature fast food place specific to Seattle.
Tacos Chukis for street style tacos
Senor Moose for good Mexican food.
Mezcaleria Oaxca also Mexican, not as great as Senor Moose but really good.
Poquitos also Mexican but not as good as the above ones.
Rocco's for really good pizza (you can also choose your own ingredients)
Pike place chowder for seafood (I've never been there but it is usually crowded so it must be good)
Barolo for good italian pasta
Tuta bella for Italian style pizza
Buca di beppo also italian but also exists on other states.
Pizza bank for really good cheesy pizzas, but this one is actually far (like 40min drive). Only go here if you happen to be near.

If you like coffe go to Starbucks roastery on cap hill. And also visit the first Starbuck on pike place market.

If you like cider you can go to capitol cider or rgb (rachels ginger beer).

For ice cream try molly moon.

There are lots of other good places for food but above are the ones I personally like the most.

Let me know if you want more options or want an specific area recommendation.

Visit golden age collectibles store at pike market.

Go to the EMP museum.

Go to a bunch of board game places to play magic/board games.

Maybe visit Amazon Go store (not really geeky but more like techie)

That's probably all I can think of besides conventions like PAX or SakuraCon which are seasonal.

What type of food do you like?

Seattle downtown does not have much. You can probably see it all in 1 summer day if you wake up really early, pack food so you don't waste time eating and end up at late nigth. For the mayority of people I'd say 2 days you can probably see most of the touistic stuff.

If you are into food or drinks there are many choices for that.

If you don't mind going outside dowtown which I would recommend, there are boat trips that get you to some islands for visiting or you could go whale watching.

If you also have a car and like outdoor activities then there's definitely lots of places to visit like some falls, national parks, lakes.

You can also just go and kayak or paddle board on the lake, go to a (rather small) beach.

There's tons of options in Seattle but it really depends what you like, the time you would be visiting and the time of the year too.

Portland on the hand has no sale tax and voodoo doughnuts, not sure what else to be honest but also worth visiting imo.

Vancouver has a cool aquarium, stanley park and the gas clockwork (ver underwhelming imo). A short visit of 1 or tops 2 days here is good if you just like visiting new places.

That's not all of it but yeah that too. The more effort you put the harder you'll get hit by bad stuff while those who do not put any effort always get the good stuff.

Lots of examples like taxing more those who work harder. Getting free money if you are homeless and do not put a single drop of effort into working. Healthcare even if you dont work. Property taxes vs free shelters. Someone working their ass off to see that other guy that does nothing get promoted due to whatever reason (parents/connections/race/age). Having money/being more successful means other people might envy you, hate you and possibly do their best to bring you down while being lazy will make people try to help you or worry about you...

TC shouldn't ignore this and is correct to report it to either the police or his bank to get the money back. Also yelp review is a must to warn other customers .

Seems like most on CE do not realize that if the establishment did it once, they probably do it to a lot of customers or change tip amount slightly hoping customer won't care or wont notice. Multiply $5 by a lot of customers, that can escale quickly and be a considerable amount of money.

Obviously my dad drew the line at the washer/dryer and said no...

..we later found out that the reason she had suggested that was because she had a friend who wanted to buy the condo and was trying to get us to do as much as we could to prepare it for them.

Damn, where did your parents know their realtor from?

Hope that now that we have the power of internet, you've written reviews/feedback on this realtor on the placea they advertise to warn others about them. Hopefully killing their reputation so they don't screw other people like they tried with your parents
